Entry Form Change for New Exhibitors!
At the CFA Annual Meeting this past weekend the Board of Directors voted to change the CFA Entry Forms to include a New Exhbitor's check box. This would be on both printed and online entry forms.

This will allow new exhibitors to indicate that they are new (and would benefit from a little guidance) and would allow clubs to bench them with experienced exhibitors, supply them with information before the show or at check in. We would be able to use this information as far as benching exhbitors for a 'in show' New Bee School.

So....be looking for this change sometime over the summer!

Another New Article
There's a new article on creating cage curtains now up in the Show Time! section of the website. It also includes measurements and a drawing of each of the 2 styles of cages found in the US.

New Articles Added
2 new pages are now on the New Bee site in the "It's Showtime!" section. The first is how to read a judging schedule and the second is how to read a show entry in the catalog.

Neither is an article in the traditional sense. Rather, they are diagrams as to what all the numbers, initials, etc. are.

New Bee Class - January 12 - High Point, NC
(see announcements at http://cfanewbee.org/NewBee.htm and at http://nccats.org for contact info and details)

Jacqui Bennett will be conducting a New Bee class after the conclusion of judging on Saturday afternoon in the showhall. Then on Sunday she and I will be doing some 'walk throughs' in the showhall as the conclusion of that class to discuss judging procedures, ribbons, and the like.

I'm still in the process of 'growing' the actual New Bee Class part of this program and much of that has to do with both finding experienced exhibitors who are willing to be instructors and venues that will work for conducting a class. Many thanks to the folks who have offered their input so far!

What I'm Learning From This Program
One of the most exciting things (IMO) about the development of this program is the feedback and involvement of the other people who have an interest of some sort in it. New Bees, mentors, people who are working with new exhbitors on their own.....they have all made invaluable contributions to this program!

For example:
I recently had someone contact me to ask if the articles on the site were available in a downloadable format, as they'd like to print some out for new exhibitors at their show. They weren't, but - what a great idea!!!! I immediately got the articles in the "Show Time" section prepared as pdfs and uploaded, and will begin working on additional exisiting articles. (Any new articles will also automatically have a downloadable pdf)

A big 'Thank You" to all of you who have emailed me, offered input and suggestions in the showhall, and/or participated in the forums - you've all made some great contributions to the program!
